Brazil’s steel slab exports drop over 20% on month in May

Brazil’s slab exports fell 23% m-o-m in May’22 to 0.58 mnt from 0.76 mnt in Apr, as per customs data.
The USA was the largest importer at 0.35 mnt, followed by the Dominican Republic at 0.07 mnt.
However, export volumes rose significantly by 21% on the year to 3.23 mnt in Jan-May’22 as against 2.66 mnt in the year-ago period.
