Power prices set to revise w.e.f April 1st, 2013 in most of the states. As per the sources, price in A.P. will revise by 15% from present Rs 6.2 per unit (including all charges) and may raise to Rs 7.2. It will increase the MS Ingot manufacturer cost by Rs 700-800 per ton, said Local Ingot Manufacturer. To make 1 ton MS Ingot, 800 units of electricity is consumed, he added.
Similarly prices in Odisha may rise by Rs 0.20 paisa per unit from Rs.5.10, as per the industrial sources.
Power prices in U.P are prevailing at Rs 5.75-5.80 that was increased in Sept-12 by 20%. In C.G it is prevailing at Rs 4.60 and industry sources says’, it might increase by Rs 0.50-0.60 per unit on rising coal prices.
In Maharashtra, power prices remain unchanged from current tariff, the charges for Maharashtra is Rs 5.60-6.00 per unit. In Daman, present power cost is at Rs 5.20 may increase by Rs 1.00 per unit. The new charges will be applicable from 1st April, 2013.
West Bengal tariff is at Rs 4.25 per unit and Karnataka, it is Rs 6.30 that may revise by 10-12% per unit to Rs 7.1 It will increase the MS Ingot manufacturer cost by Rs 700/t, said an ingot manufacturer.
