India: CEA to regulate coal supplies of power plants under Shakti policy

The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has been asked to formulate a plan for coal supplies made under Shakti B (viii) (a) policy taking into account the mandatory imports for blending. This policy provides short-term coal linkages to independent power plants based on competitive bidding. Coal supplies to such plants would be curtailed in proportion of 10% of imports by weight for a period extending till Mar’23.
