In a confirmed deal, 50,000 t of high-CV Russian 6000 kcal/kg grade coal have been booked at $200/t CFR India basis. Only few Indian buyers are buying Russian coal due to its cheaper rates while most are avoiding as vessel availability and insurance is a big issue in the war zone and also the risk of sanctions by west is high. A total of 0.3 mnt of Russian thermal and PCI coal have arrived at Indian ports so far this month, CoalMint data showed.
