US coking coal miner Peabody Energy Corporation produced 250,000 t of coking coal in Q1CY’22 from Shoal Creek, a longwall coal mine in Alabama. The miner restarted operations in Oct’21 after a year’s gap due to the pandemic and labour-related issues. The mine supplies high-volatile A hard coking coal the availability of which is limited. In 2019, the mine produced 1.9 mnt of coking coal.
