India: Ferro Silicon imports fall by 17% m-o-m in Apr’22

India’s ferro silicon imports decreased by 17% on a monthly basis to 17,655 t in April 2022 against March 2022 which stood at 21,384 t. There was a decline in demand due to low buying interest and production cuts in foundries during that period. However, on a yearly basis, imports increased by 13% during January- April 2022. Major exporting countries for India were Bhutan and China followed by Malaysia and Brazil in April 2022.
