India’s flat steel exports fell by 33% to 920,000 t in Apr’22 from 1.38 mnt a month ago. HRC and plates had the largest share of exports at 620,000 t followed by galvanised steel at 240,000 t and CRC at 40,000 t. Italy and Belgium were the major export destinations during the month. The decline in export shipments was due to limited buying from traditional markets and exhaustion of EU quotas for Q1 2022.
