South Asia: Imported ferrous scrap prices fall in recent deals

Imported scrap price indications in South Asia have continued to witness a drop d-o-d amid weaker global price sentiments. However, a few deals were concluded in the market.

• Pakistan’s imported shredded scrap prices of UK-origin are assessed at $535-540/t, CFR Pakistan, down by $15-20/t d-o-d. Around 3,000-3,500 t of shredded scrap transactions have been recorded today.
• Imported UK-origin shredded prices into India are at $540-545/t and those of Dubai-origin HMS-1 are at $535/t, CFR Nhava Sheva, down by $3-5/t d-o-d.
• Bangladesh’s imported scrap market remained lull another day. However, as per SteelMint’s daily assessment, UK-origin shredded is heard at $560/t, down by $20/t d-o-d and HMS at $545/t, CFR, unchanged.
