India: Karnataka Power Corporation seeks imported coal for its three power plants

Karnataka Power Corporation (KPCL) invited bids to procure 0.64 mnt imported coal for one year. The coal should be having 6,200 kCal/kg calorific value to be delivered at KPCL’s Yermarus, Bellary and Raichur plants. As per power ministry data, the company has not imported coal in the past five fiscals.
