Colombia: Thermal coal exports fall 13% in April; shipments to Europe rise

Thermal coal exports from Colombia witnessed a 13% m-o-m decline to 3.5 mnt in April, CoalMint vessel line-up data revealed. However, rising coal demand in Europe following sanctions on Russia also resulted in higher shipments. Export shipments to the Netherlands were up by 581% m-o-m to 1.1 mnt last month, while that to Spain were up by 433% at 0.4 mnt. Shipments to Turkey, Israel, and Japan fell.
