- Taiwan’s steel billets imports rose sharply by 59.93% m-o-m in April 2022 to 0.48 mnt from 0.30 mnt in March 2022, as per data recently released by customs.
- Russia was the largest exporter with 0.20 mnt, followed by Japan and Indonesia with 0.08 mnt and 0.06 mnt, respectively.
- Import volumes rose marginally by 7% y-o-y to reach 1.41 mnt in January-April 2022 as against 1.32 mnt in the same period last year.
