Major provinces in China set limits for thermal coal price

In order to keep thermal coal prices in China under check, seven provinces specified upper limit for spot and term contracts, media reports revealed. The move is in line with NDRC’s attempt to keep 5500 kcal/kg NAR prices at RMB 570-770/t. Shanxi, Shaanxi, and West Inner Mongolia have set the spot thermal coal price limit at RMB 855/t, RMB 780/t, and RMB 690/t, ex-mine basis respectively.
