China: Steel exports increase marginally in April

Steel exports by Chinese mills edged up by 1% to 4.98 mnt in Apr’22 compared to 4.95 mnt a month ago. Competitive offers by Chinese mills compared to other exporting nations amidst weak domestic demand due to COVID-19 lockdowns and absence of supplies from Russia and Ukraine resulted in the rise in China’s steel exports during the period.
