- South Africa’s iron ore exports rose significantly by 39.39% in Mar’22 to 6.80 mnt compared with 4.88 mnt in Feb’22, as per data recently released by customs.
- China was the largest importer with 3.29 mnt, followed by the Netherlands and South Korea with 0.99 mnt and 0.57 mnt, respectively.
- However, export volumes remained largely stable at 16.51 mnt in Jan-Mar’22 as against 16.09 mnt in the same period last year.
