Global zinc usage expected to increase marginally in CY’22 – ILZSG

The International Lead & Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) has forecast in a recent study that the world’s zinc metal usage will likely increase by 1.6% to 14.26 mnt in 2022 as against 14.03 mnt in 2021. In 2022, ILZSG also expects a gradual improvement in mining and metal production by 3.9% and 0.9% respectively. Mined zinc output was recorded at 12.78 mnt in 2021, whereas metal production stood at 13.84 mnt.
