India: South African RB2 coal sold at INR 22,000/t at Visakhapatnam Port

In a confirmed deal, 5,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 kcal/kg NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 22,000/t at Visakhapatnam Port, while some RB2 offers were at INR 23,000/t at Gangavaram. The price rise came amid tight RB2 coal stocks at ports and limited vessel arrivals from South Africa. Although enquiries from sponge iron manufacturers rose, trade deals have not been heard concluded.
