SAIL held an auction for 4,000 t (two rakes) of steel grade pig iron on 20 April 2022 from the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL). Buyers booked the entire quantity at a weighted average price of INR 59,000/t exw. At SAIL’s previous auction on 9 April, the deal was closed for the same quantity and grade of the material without a single bid due to higher base price which was at INR 56,000/t.
