China: Coking coal imports from Russia up 27% m-o-m in Mar’22

China’s coking coal imports from Russia increased 27% m-o-m to 1.4 mnt in Mar’22. Imports increased due to the discounted price offered by Russia after its coal exports were hit by the sanctions imposed by Japan and European Union. As a result, Russian coking coal became cheaper compared to coal offered by the other exporting nations.
