India: South African RB2 coal sold at INR 21,000/t at Vizag Port

As imported South African coal prices surged after the EU slapped fresh sanctions on Russian coal, portside RB2 (5500 kcal/kg NAR) coal prices were assessed at INR 21,000/t for a quantity of 2,000 t at Vizag Port. In another deal, 3,000 t of RB3 (4800 kcal/kg NAR) coal was sold at INR 17,200/t. However, bids from sponge iron manufacturers remained weak amid increasing unavailability of running operations.
