China’s Baoshan Iron and Steel announced a hike in its domestic tinplate prices for May’22 deliveries by RMB 200/t ($31/t) compared with April. The company has decided to raise prices for the third consecutive month on the back of surging coal and iron ore prices. While maintaining a firm position in the domestic market, Baosteel will focus on the export market too.
