Amid talks of China’s government implementing medium-to-long-term contracts for domestic coal, offers were floated at lower levels of RMB 1,200/t ($188/t). The government is pushing for long-term contracts to prevent high volatility and ensure that coal prices remain within a reasonable range. 5500 kcal/kg NAR grade coal prices fell by RMB 70/t to RMB 1,380/t ($217/t) this week. However, buying enquiries remain limited.
