India: South African RB3 coal sold at INR 17,500/t at Gangavaram Port

In a confirmed deal, 10,000 t of South African RB3 (4800 kcal/kg NAR) coal was sold at INR 17,500/t at Gangavaram Port, while elevated RB2 coal prices amid limited supply continued to wean sponge iron manufacturers away from purchases at higher prices. Vessel arrivals from South Africa remain limited, with a total of 0.65 mnt of cargo arriving at Indian ports between 29 Mar-14 Apr’22, CoalMint vessel line-up data shows.
