South Korea: EGI imports increase 24%, exports up 9% y-o-y in Feb’22

South Korea’s imports and exports of electro-galvanised steel sheets (EGI) stood at 11,422 tonnes (t) and 59,965 t, up 24% and 9% y-o-y respectively, according to the Korea Steel Association. The country’s GI exports to Japan rose by 33%, China by 10% and Europe by 39% y-o-y respectively in Feb’22. Meanwhile, export and import volumes of EGI in Jan-Feb’22 registered an increase of 17% and 0.7% y-o-y.
