India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed trend in prices on 17 Mar’22, as offers from the mid-sized mills fluctuated in the range of INR 50-1,300/tonne (t) d-o-d.
Sponge iron and billet prices varied in the range of INR 50-1,300/t, with a major hike seen in Mandi Gobindgarh (northern India) market.
Rebar (Fe 500) offers fluctuated by INR 300-1,000/t across regions. Whereas, a sharp drop of INR 1,000 was seen in Delhi and Raigarh’s market.
The overall market remained subdued with limited trade activities throughout the day. Buying and selling interest both seemed to be dull on account of Holi festival. Participants are expecting prices either supported or volatile from next week onwards.
