Melting scrap prices increased at most locations in the country except in the Chennai market on 16 Mar’22. Scrap prices remained supported on rising semi-finished (ingot/billet) prices following active participation in the recently concluded iron ore auction conducted by Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC). The near-term outlook remains unclear as prices are fluctuating on a daily basis, trader sources told SteelMint.
