China’s metallurgical coke output up nearly 8%, y-o-y, in Jan-Feb’22

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), from Jan to Feb’22, China’s national coke output was recorded at 74.36 mnt, a year-on-year decrease of 7.6%. Domestic coke prices were on the rise on record high coking coal prices and producers had to go for successive rounds of price hikes despite curbs on steel production ahead of the Winter Olympics.
