China: Crude steel output falls 10%, y-o-y, in Jan-Feb’22

China’s crude steel output reached 157.96 million tonnes (mnt) in Jan-Feb’22, down 10% compared with 174.99 mnt in the year ago period, as per National Bureau of Statistics data. The Lunar New Year holidays coupled with the Beijing Winter Olympics and China’s focus on keeping the environment clean were factors that led to the drop in output.
