Automobile component producers based in north India received bids for mild steel turning and boring scrap at around INR 48,500-49,000/t exw at auctions held recently, as per sources. However, low-grade scrap was booked at INR 42,700-43,500/t at the auctions. Melting scrap prices corrected downwards yesterday, falling by up to INR 1,500/t in Punjab following a correction in semi-finished steel prices.
