Melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market witnessed a huge disparity today in terms of offers floated by the sellers and expectations of buyers. Suppliers quoted offers at around INR 48,000/t for HMS 80:20 grade and attachment scrap at INR 49,000/t exy. However, bid prices were INR 500-700/t lesser than offers owing to slow trades in semi-finished steel, which led to the disparity in prices in the spot market.
