South Korea: Electro-galvanised steel sheet exports up 24%, y-o-y, in Jan’22

South Korea’s electro-galvanised (EGI) steel sheet exports stood at 71,225 t in Jan’22, up 24% as against 57,463 t in the year-ago period, as per a SteelDaily report. On an annualised basis, export shipments to Japan rose 26%, while shipments to Thailand and Philipines increased 18% and 61%, respectively. South Korea’s EGI imports dropped by 21% to 7,794 t in Jan’22 versus 9,837 t in Jan’21, with the major share coming from China.
