Ferro Silicon prices remain unchanged as buying interest remains low but constant. Reportedly, there is some paucity for the material in the market.
Ferro Silicon prices have been supported by restricted supply from Bhutan and low-production in the North-Eastern states of India. Currently, grade 70-75 is being offered at around INR 77,000/MT (Ex-Bhutan). The export market continues to witness moderate demand from European buyers and is being traded at around USD 1,370/MT FoB Kolkata.
Indian producers also held Ferro Silicon prices firm aided by stable prices in Bhutan. Current price of Ferro Silicon (70-75) is in the range of INR 74,500-75,000/MT (Ex-Guwahati). Indian Ferro Silicon market is down with production, as few plants are not operational at the moment.
Market sources are of the view that the Ferro Silicon prices should not fall anytime soon, as supply is restricted. SteelMint assessed that there has been a shortage of material in the market but general demand remain constrained.
