China’s domestic coke producers propose a price hike of RMB 200/t ($63/t)

Amid constrained coke supplies in the largest coke producing province of Shanxi due to environmental inspections, domestic met coke producers in Shanxi and Shandong provinces have proposed a price hike of RMB 200/t ($32/t) after prices corrected by RMB 400/t ($63/t) so far post CNY holidays. Domestic coke producers are gaining pricing power once again amid replenishment from steel mills that are resuming operations post-Winter Olympics.
