India: South African RB2 coal sold at INR 17,000/t at Haldia Port

In a confirmed deal, 10,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 17,000/t at Haldia Port. No major deals were reported at Gangavaram amid limited inventory levels and also because a majority of Mar’22 vessels have already been booked by sponge iron manufacturers. Imported RB1 (6000 NAR) prices continue to remain resilient at $197/t FOB, further supporting the rise in portside prices.
