Rebar producers in central India hike gauge parity by INR 500/t ($7/t)

Chattisgarh-based rolling mills have increased the rebar gauge parity by INR 500/t ($7/t) effective 16 Feb’22 in order to improve conversion spread, credible sources informed. The new parity for rebar from 10-25 mm stands at INR 4,500/t, while for 8-32 mm it is INR 5,500/t. Re-rollers increased the gauge parity after five months and the current spread, before the revised parity, hovered around INR 4,600-5,000/t in Raipur.
