Structure demand in Central India has fallen from past few weeks owing to monsoon. This led to sharp fall in buying activities in the domestic market.
Durgapur market witnesses low structure demand, while the offers remain at the same level for both light & heavy sections on account of stability in Ingot & Billet prices.
A trader based at Durgapur quoted, “In this week, demand is terrible. We did not receive a single enquiry for structural items. Meanwhile, higher prices of semi finish hold the offers constant, however buying fell by 40-50% in past 1-month”.
Baba Smelters a well known brand, has offered Angle 50 at INR 35,600/MT (advance payment; Ex-Durgapur).
Light structural offers in Raipur have declined, while the heavy section prices remain unchanged. But, demand is dull for both sections.
SKS Ispat supplied around 3,500 MT of Structural items in a local project during last 3 months, but as monsoon hit the Central India, demand of local projects have fallen sharply.
Meanwhile, demand from northern India also slow down. Today SKS Ispat offers I-Beam 200 at INR 35,500/MT (next day payment; Ex-Raipur).
Structure offers in Ghaziabad are unchanged. A Ghaziabad based manufacturer, who requested to be anonymous supplied Structures in Delhi Metro Rail project. In the project, they supplied around 500 MT of Structural items per month on an average basis.
