Indonesia’s coal production falls by over 30%, y-o-y, to 31.8 mnt in Jan’22

Indonesia’s coal production fell by 33%, y-o-y, and 25% on the month to 31.8 mnt in Jan’22, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). Due to critically low stocks at domestic power utilities, the world’s top seaborne thermal coal supplier had announced a ban on coal exports for the entire month of Jan.
