India: Premium for South African RB2 coal climbs $5/t on depleting stocks

Amid acute coal shortage at South Africa’s RBCT port, RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal that was earlier sold at a discount is now fetching a premium of $5/t. The discount for RB3 (4800 NAR) coal has reduced by $5/t. RB1 coal prices stood at $174/t FOB on 31 Jan. Thermal coal stocks at RBCT are assessed at 1.8 mnt against an average of 5 mnt in normal circumstances.
