Indian Pig iron (foundry) makers are making exports in small quantities at prices more or less similar to domestic market.
Tata Metaliks exported 1,000 tons of containerized Pig iron (foundry) in April, at prices slightly above domestic offers (Rs 27,400/MT ex works Kharagpur) to Bangladesh and decided to go for large quantity domestic sales.
A South West region based Pig iron (foundry) producer is exporting 200 tons to Far east region as realizations are better than selling into North India.
Prices (foundry) in Chennai fall by Rs 500/MT to Rs 26,500/MT (basic); exports (steel) are on hold looking at quite low offers from importers.
