Vedanta subsidiary ESL Steel Ltd. has recently announced a hike in list prices of wire rod (5.5-6mm, SAE 1008) by INR 1,000/t ($13/t) for end-Jan’22 sales, sources informed SteelMint. The effective price stands at INR 57,500-58,000/t ($766-773/t) exy-Delhi, excluding GST at 18%.
Surging global steel prices coupled with improved domestic demand, not to forget soaring raw material costs, have resulted in the price hike.
