India: Rebar production rises by 9%, m-o-m, in Dec’21

India’s rebar production stood at 3.10 mn t in Dec’21, up 9% against 2.86 mn t in Nov. Joint Plant Committee (JPC) data shows that output increased 8% versus 2.87 mn t in Dec’20.

• JSPL, JSW Steel, RINL and SAIL reported an increase in production by 25%, 5%, 19% and 4%, respectively, on a monthly basis.
• Tata Steel, however, reported a decline in output by 7% on the month and 13% y-o-y in Dec.
