According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China’s crude steel output will decrease by 3% year-on-year to 1.033 billion tonnes (bn t) in 2021 from 1.065 bn t in 2020. Hebei was the largest crude steel producing province in China in CY’21 with 225 million tonnes (mn t). But, compared to last year, Hebei’s production fell by 10% y-o-y. Jiangsu is the second-largest crude steel-producing province with 119.2 mn t followed by Shandong province in third place with 76.5 mnt, down 4% y-o-y.
