China’s state planner National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a recently held meeting that the country’s coal production will be fully capable of fulfilling domestic demand. China produced 4.07 bn t of coal in CY’21. This apart, coal reserves of 166 mn t are stored at power plants as on 16 Jan’22, which are sufficient to be used for 21 days.
