Indian Billet Prices down upto INR 500-1,000/MT M-o-M

Indian Billet prices have corrected almost by INR 500-1,000/MT in last one month owing to sluggish demand in construction sector, which generally slows down during monsoon. Current offers for commercial grade Billet are hovering in the range of INR 31,000-33,000/MT (USD 515-550/MT) on Ex-plant basis.

Indian Billet prices seem to stabilize at current levels as buyers are waiting for Union Budget, which is schedule on 08 Jul, 2014.

Export offers for Billet are comparatively high from other countries like Korea & Ukraine. Importers mentioned that Indian offers are not competitive and they are inclined to buy from CIS countries, which is cheaper by almost USD 20-30/MT.

Some trades have been heard from Indian eastern region to Nepal at about USD 530-535/MT (INR31,800-31,900/MT) Ex-Works basis.
