Iran: Billet prices fall even as rebar prices remain stable

Billet prices in Iran are trending down on weak buying interest as the country’s government seeks to control prices by lowering DRI prices. However, re-rollers are resisting any move to lower prices due to their expensive billet purchases from warehouses that has kept rebar prices stable.

  • Steel billet prices fell by 500 Rial/Kg to 135,000 Rial/Kg exw compared to 12 Jan’22.
  • Rebar prices are stable at 150,000 Rial/Kg exw on 17 Jan.
