Japanese steel major Nippon Steel will raise prices of coloured square pipes and coloured lightweight shaped steel by JPY 5,000/t ($43.39/t) from Feb’22. The cost hike associated with the switch over to lead/chrome-free “JISK5674” certified products will be passed on to end-users. Moreover, due to margin pressure it is unlikely that supply will remain stable.
