Private producers in Durgapur have raised pig iron offers by INR 1,000/t ($13/t). Fresh offers by Neo Metaliks are at INR 41,000/t exw against INR 40,000/t exw yesterday. However, recent deals have been reported at around INR 40,500-40,700/t exw.
The key factors behind the spike are rising coking coal prices and planned maintenance shutdown undertaken by a merchant producer.
