A major Jharsuguda, Odisha-based mill has reported 3,000 t of steel grade pig iron deals at around INR 38,700/t exw. Prices have moved up by INR 400/t against deals at INR 38,300/t on 17 Dec’21. Due to an export order, the plant was holding domestic supply since past few weeks.
Rising steel prices and resumption of exports remain the key factors behind increase in pig iron prices.
Producers in Durgapur have raised offers by INR 600/t w-o-w to INR 40,000-40,200/t exw for steel grade material.
