Nippon Steel Corp. has filed a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court against Mitsui and Co. for alleged infringement of Japanese steel major’s patent related to electric motor-driven vehicles. Nippon Steel has filed similar lawsuits against Toyota Motor Corp. and a Chinese steelmaker, demanding that each company pay about JPY 20 billion in damages. Mitsui was involved in the deal between Toyota and the Chinese company.
