Indonesia: Coal production likely to rise by 6% in 2022

Indonesia’s coal production in 2022 is expected to be in the range of 637-664 mn t, up 6.24%, y-o-y, against the annual target of 625 mn t in 2021, the country’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources informed recently. Amid supply disruption due to heavy rainfall and a surge in Covid cases, Indonesian miners missed their output target for 2021. The country’s coal output was assessed at 560 mn t on 10 Dec’21.
