China: New shipbuilding orders rise by over 180% in Jan-Nov’21

Data from China Shipbuilding Industry Association (CSIA) reveals that in Jan-Nov’21 35.88 million deadweight tonnes (dwt) of shipbuilding will be completed – up 7.9% on the year. China received 63.64 million dwt of new orders during the period – an increase of 182.6% y-o-y. The country’s shipbuilding completions and new orders accounted for 45.5% and 53.3%, respectively, of the global market share.
